Pro:
- First, I have to say that it was kind of
cool having a classroom
to
myself and with the mute button I could even answer my phone if it rang
and no one would be the wiser! Just kidding!
- I thought that it was a great
way to be able to take a course
that
wasn't offered at my IU campus. For most of the time, reception was
clear and problems were few. It makes a big
difference when you know that the lines of communication are always
open.
- The tech guys here at IUPUI
were also consistent and punctual.
- If I
found another course I wanted to take and it was available this way, I
would register with no qualms.
- Sending assignments by
email or fax did help make the class easier. Although it was
probably
more difficult for you to keep track of everything coming in.
- From a technical standpoint,
it has worked much better than I would have expected, there
really was just one day where the connection and delay were bad.
Con:
- The only complaint I have
is because I was in the classroom at IUN by myself so I did miss
talking with others especially because the class was a class with lots
of discussion.
- I have to be honest I have not
enjoyed the distance learning aspect of this class, the information has
been great, but the format is distracting.
- Sometimes
it feels like I am
intruding on a class I am not in, and I think that is part of the
reason why I have missed so many classes.
- I do not
think I will participate in distance learning in the future, because I
get distracted so easily, and the video and noises are distracting. I
am glad I had the chance to participate in the course though.
- I will try
again but I have had trouble logging on to any IUN computer because I
am not enrolled there.
