Hints for test II
- No sheet of equations.
- Constants will be provided.
- You must show the instructor an empty calculator memory before
the test starts.
- Newton's laws (there are three!).
- Gravitational force or (Static) Electrical Force.
- Conservation of energy.
- Expect an incline-plane problem.
- Expect a problem with friction.
- Expect a conservation of energy problem, maybe two.
- Expect some kind of problem dealing with potential energy
(escape velocity or atomic potentials for example).
- Be sure to review the homework problems, problems you did in
class, examples in the book and worked problems in the student study
guide.
- Possible bonus question include:
- Any interesting material from these chapters not covered in
class.
- Questions over lab material.
- Fundamental forces.
- Numerical modeling (review the 2nd computer exercise).
- Terminal velocity.
Past tests.
- NOTE: From year to year we cover slightly different
material so you may see things in past years that were not covered this
year. Conversely you may see things on this years test not covered in
previous years.
- ALSO: Due to limitations with html formating, not all
figures and equations are available..
