Hints for the final.
-
Bring one sheet of equations to the final.
-
Constants will be provided, as will equations needed from last semester.
-
You must show the instructor an empty calculator memory before the test
starts.
-
Late work will be accepted up till NOON, April 24. You may get half
credit for late homework.
Hints for the final!?
-
Everything this semester! Check lists on the pages for the
three
tests. Important topics include:
Gauss'
law, electric force, electric field, Ampere and Biot-Savart's laws, magnetic force, magnetic field,
electric
potential (work), Faraday's law, harmonic waves, interference and
diffraction,
spectra, electron waves, Schrödinger's equation, nuclear physics.
-
Review the quiz questions from the quizzes this semester and the conceptual
questions done as homework or in class. Some of these will appear on the final.
-
One or two questions about the labs will also appear this year on the final.
- Review the problems we did in class, homework problems, and examples in
the book. You did around 200 problems/questions this semester and they pretty
much cover the material.
- Review the 3 past tests, and the past tests listed from the web
pages.
- Topics we covered but have not appeared on the three tests are likely
to
appear.
- Any interesting material in the book or lab not covered in class is a
possible bonus question as are bonus questions from past tests.
Past tests.
-
NOTE: From year to year we cover slightly different material
so
you may see things in past years that were not covered this year.
Conversely
you may see things on this years test not covered in previous years.
-
ALSO: Due to limitations with html formatting, not all
figures and
equations are available.
GOOD LUCK!
PS: Don't forget the fluid seminar (check the news
page for details).
