Plot a Function of one variable: f(x)

X Axis Label= Y Axis Label=

Graph Title=

X Axis Max= X Axis Min=

Y Axis Max= Y Axis Min=

Instructions:

  • Enter your function in the 'F(x)= ' window and click on 'Plot' to see a plot of the function. If the plot remains blank you have a typographical error.
  • The following functions can be used: abs(x), acos(x), acosh(x), asin(x), asinh(x), atan(x), atanh(x), ceil(x), cos(x), cosh(x), exp(x), frac(x), floor(x), int(x), log(x), random(x), round(x), sign(x), sin(x), sinh(x), sqr(x), sqrt(x), step(x), tan(x), tanh(x).
  • The graph will auto-scale to the function but you have to click the 'reset' button to go back to the previous scaling.
  • You can add data points to the graph with the 'x= ' and 'y= ' windows.
  • You can change the title and labels on the graph by typing in the spaces and then clicking on the appropriate 'add' button.
    • The carat symbol (^) causes text to be in superscript.
    • The underscore symbol ( _ ) causes text to be in subscript.
    • So for example, to put the chemical symbol for water in a title or label, you would type: H_{2}O to get a label that looks like H2O.
  • The 'Clear Label' button clears only the title and labels. The 'clear' button clears the function plot.
  • Use the print option in the browser to print the page.

Note: See Appendices A and B in your lab manual for further details
on the correct way to report your data.
