- Towards the end of the semester
(maybe right after exams) we will have the Physics Pfluid Seminar! All past, future and current
physics students are invited!

- Thinking of taking Physics P201 but aren't sure you know enough math? Try
the self graded Math
Quiz/Review (temporarily off-line). This on-line quiz reviews all the math you need for P201
and gives you a score. (This quiz will be assigned as an exercise in the
first class and count as a lab grade.)
- Graphical Analysis is now available on all campus computers; log
onto any PC on campus and look for it in the 'Student Apps' menu.
- You can now use a web based
graphing
Applet program to do your data plots.
- Web statistics! See how often the physics server is hit and from what country
etc.
- The old IUS Physics server for 2/8/95 to 5/1/96
(this was a MacIIvx using MacHttp software).
- The second IUS Physics server for 8/22/95 to 9/5/96
(this was a Mac Quadra 800 using MacHttp software).
- Unfortunately the log file was accidentally turned off in '96 so there are no statistics from 9/5/96 to 4/2/97.
- 4/2/97 to 5/4/98.
- 5/4/98 to 10/12/98 (10/12/98 to 12/22/98 was,
again, accidentally not logged).
- 5/4/98 to 8/7/99 (excluding 10/12/98 to 12/22/98).
- On 8/6/99 the site was moved to a Linux box running Apache server software.
Statistics from then until 10/21/02 are not available.
- On 10/1/01 the site was moved to a new Linux box running Apache server
software. On 10/21/02 WebLog2.51
was restarted (earlier data lost). Here are the statistics for Oct 2002 to July 2004.
- In July 2004 the server OS was switched from Red Hat to
Debian, still using Apache server software.
- In Jan. 2006 the site was moved to the IT group sites. Statistics are
not available.
- for freshman and sophomore
level physics courses at IUS. The cost to students is only $8.00 per hour;
That's a real bargain!!! To request tutoring help, go to Student Development
Center (Knobview Hall room 233).
- Career Services has a web source for deciding on
career
choices.
- If you have specific physical, psychiatric or learning disabilities
and require accommodations (for example with laboratory exercises),
please
let your instructor or Professor Forinash
know early in the semester so that your learning needs may be appropriately
met. You will need to provide documentation of your disability to the Office
of Services for Students with Disabilities in Library Building Room 022,
phone: 941-2579.
