-- a physics education research and development project funded by the
U.S. Department of Eduction, with the goal of producing a pedagogically
driven open-ended laboratory physics courseware product that promotes
model-based learning.
Results
from extensive Physics Education Research (PER) over the last
15 years support the notion that students learn best in a laboratory-based
environment, where they have appropriate tools for conducting
investigations and constructing their own models, and where they
can participate in group learning situations with guidance provided
by a teacher/facilitator. The focus of the LAAPhysics
R&D efforts was to model this pedagogy in an online environment.
